AGM (17/1/14)
Hey fellow friends!
Today, we held our annual AGM to briefly talk about our achievements back in 2013, our plans/schedules for 2014, farewells to our beloved seniors, and also welcoming of the new committee! It was a successful and fun meeting as for the first time, NP Softball AGM has a coach present for the meeting! Kudos to us!
Firstly, i would like to express my gratitude towards seniors who are graduating. Thankyou so much for making all the efforts to come down for trainings and train us freshies! Training has been so lively and fun with you all around. Thankyou for showing us just how fun softball in Ngee Ann is like! You ignited the SOFTBALL SPIRIT in us!
Those that are graduating: Alfie, Brandon, Catherine, Daryl, Jeremy, Leslie, Neo, Sufyan, Xavier.
From our fellow 'foreign' senior: "Thanks alot for the great memories." -Sufyan
I wish you all the best in your future endeavors!
Next would be the welcoming of the new committee!
Secretary: Alicia
Publicity: Jiawei
Quarter Master: Ivan
Vice-Captain: YiZhen
Captain: Jared
Vice President: Jordan
President: Perry
The new committee with do their best to make sure this year would be better with many fun stuffs coming up! You can also expect more outings as we hardly had any back at 2013! Here are some words from our seniors:
"We can progress more as a team. I hope that little things we do will help bonding the team. I hope that we will all play a part as a team and train together as a team. I think that we lack outings, thus we will be trying to have more outings and bond better!" -Perry
"Support your presidents and captains!" - Daryl
Moving on, we have set up a couple of goals to meet in 2014!
-Retain healthy number of freshies
-Achievements in tournament
-More outings
-Consistent attendance during trainings
-To maintain the bonds in softball
We hope to be able to hit all the goals by the end of the year! If there are any additional goals, please do not hesitate to bring up during our training so that we can all work together towards the goals together!
Lastly, for some of the main programmes for the year!
March - Tournament
April - CCA Fiesta
June - Camp/Tournament
Yes guys, CAMP, FINALLY! :D
We will be holding the camp in conjunction with our tournament so we will be killing two birds with one stone! And we hope that for CCA fiesta, most of you will be present and support our booth so we can get more freshies in and expand our softball CCA!
With that, it was the end of AGM and we embark on a new year together. I personally do hope that we will stay strong, united and continue to keep our attendance up! For those that have not been coming, please try to attend the trainings as much as possible and remember to highlight to the committee if you are not attending the training! CHEERS FOR THE NEW YEAR!
Thankyou,
Jiawei

Kallang Open
Hey guys! It's a little late but let me update you guys on what we have been up to in the past 2 months!
Late February was the start of Kallang Open and I must say turn up for the first game was good. We played against quite a few school/Poly/Uni and although the we lost our matches i'm sure it has been an enriching experience for all of our club's members.
Here are a few pictures of our games.
Its going to be a new semester starting today and i'm sure there will be more activities to look forward to. To all the freshies entering Ngee Ann, come and take a look at our booth during CCA FIESTA!
Cheers,
Joo Heng

Happy New Year
Happy New Year folks! Before we usher in the New Year, I'll wrap up the last few events of Axis'12.
On 27 December 2012, we had a friendly game with Montfort Secondary School. Although not many people turned up, I'm sure those who turned up did learn more and gained more experience as it was the first fast pitch game for a few of us.
We lost this friendly so this means we have to train even harder especially since Kallang Open is around the corner. Work it guys! You guys can do it :D Oh and those who suffered injuries please take good care of yourselves namely Jerry, Sunyu and Neo~
Anyway, we also had a late Christmas and early New Year BBQ on 30 December 2012. Those who didn't come, booooooooo... Too bad you guys didn't get to eat awesomeee food :P
Anyhoo, looking back, thank you Axis for the great 2012! All the games we played together and how much we got through - competitions, camp, PT, Napfa, outings etc.
May you guys have a great 2013 ahead! :) And hopefully we will accomplish something great this year \(^.^)/
Happy New Year guys! :D
Cheers,
Jasmine

Slowpitch Intervarsity and Baseball - Softball Exchange Programme
Hey minions,
Sorry for not posting for a longgggggg time because me was busy with STUFF. Anyhoo, here's a post on some events we missed.
1) Softball Slowpitch Intervarsity
During September, we spent like 2 weekends at the hot Kallang Diamond field, competing in softball slowpitch. Regretfully we COULD have won but somewhere, somehow, our team morale dropped. I'm sorry if I was emo and not there for the team and sorry for all the stupid mistakes I make.
Results aside, I hope you guys did have fun. Thanks for people who came down but didn't get to be in the game very often, sorry and really thank you for taking your time to come down :)
I'll train harder for the next game and I hope everyone will too! We should try get another trophy not matter what category we win. Even the meh meh one ;D
So I leave you guys with some photos. Sorry I was kinda lazy to photoshop so yea~~~
We the mafia big bosses are returning to our shelter :)
Our butler is choking. Heimlich maneuver anyone?
I have no idea why they are so happy. But a smile or laughter in a game = something good :D Furthermore it's the ice monster smiling happily :O OMG! What has the world come to!
Easy play - play one ;D
Team photo :D
Hardworking and outstanding farmers :D
Overall this competition was okay -.- I still keep making the same mistakes D: The only new mistake I made was to lop a ball to the umpire. But I swear I didn't mean it! Sorry Jacquelyn's coach Marcus :/
Anyhoo, I think our team really really has potential! We really could have won! But oh wells, do not dwell on the past so let's move on and do better next time! :D
2) Baseball - Softball Exchange Programme
When people always ask what is softball, the typical lazy me will say it's like baseball =.= But whether it really is, hmm... So yea, to answer the question we had the SP baseball team for a baseball and softball exchange programme where play softball in the morning and baseball in the afternoon. It was a great experience and we made new friends who joined us in softball camp :D The good times! Remember gynecologist ;D Will update a camp post another day.
Anyhoo, we started off the morning with some softball throwing and batting and fast pitch game :D
Our new found friends! :D
Okay so we had lunch after the softball game and we proceeded to Ayer Rajah stadium for baseball :D I guess our NP softball people were excited to try out the new sport and when we came back we had a few people trying to pitch baseball eh ;D
Our softball members trying their hand at baseball pitching :)
No. 1 Househusband aka FAMILY MAN
Sufyan gangnam style! :D
In conclusion, IN MY OPINION, baseball and softball is kinda similar YET different. For baseball, the playing field is bigger, the ball is smaller and harder to hit, the gripping of the ball is different and ummm... There may be other differences but I've yet to find out. I like both sports! Maybe softball a bit more but that's just me being biased. Kekeke :D
Back to the topic, so yea, this exchange programme marks the start of our possible future friendship :D Thank you Teck Huat and Neo for organising it! Hope we will have more activities together! :D I'll leave the camp post till later when I get all the incriminating videos and photos! So stay tune guys! (Even if it may take some time...) Love you all! xoxo
Cheers,
Jasmine
